DJ and Producer
AFRO HOUSE | HOUSE CLASSICS | TECH HOUSE | MELODIC HOUSE | DEEP HOUSE | SOULFUL | PROGRESSIVE HOUSE
Johannesburg-based DJ, producer and cultural curator DJ Kabila has shaped Afro House culture for decades. Born Siyanda Makanya in Mthatha, South Africa, he is known for delivering deep, spiritual and Afro-centric house music with authority, earning him the title “The General.” His sound is rooted in soulful rhythms, emotional depth and a powerful connection to the dancefloor.
A defining moment in his journey came in 1999 when a car accident left him wheelchair-bound. Rather than slowing his path, the experience marked a creative rebirth. Music became his engine for resilience, purpose and growth. His debut album Believe introduced him to national audiences, led by the standout track “Amantombazane.”
He followed with Soulistic Music Cuts Vol. 1, featuring Black Coffee and Marissa Guzman, with the remix of “Time to Go” earning a SAMA nomination. Through his imprint Musiq Soldier Entertainment, he released Music Will Save The Day, featuring the international hit “Atsha Pha” with Toshi, later championed by Black Coffee.
